Delecious food, spicy if you want it, but not crazy if you order it mild. The waitress was so kind to my children. The Pineapple fried rice was one of the better I have had, and my wife's Pad Thai was much better than other local places. The ambiance was clean, quiet and friendly. The other reviews were not great so I have avoided this place in the past, but I finally decided to try it on a whim, and I will be back!!!

The food was decent, and quickly brought to our table. Prices and customer service were standard. 2 points of contention: 1- flies. Several flies in our faces, on the light fixture and buzzing around us. 2- They took the enormous kitchen garbage bin outside through the dining room. Big garbage bin... dragged right past my table. Don't take your mother here... unless you're trying to leave her somewhere because you hate her. Then, leave her here.

I ordered the Pad Thai with vegetables only, it was delicious! They offer a dine in eating area which looked clean and inviting. The lady who took my order was very kind. The wait wasn't long, the portions were large.

Good food. Not very fancy but relaxed, quiet atmosphere. A lot of regulars seem to order take out. Service was a little slow tonight and two of our four meals came out about 5 minutes apart. Friendly staff though.

Good food and great service. Only complaint is that our food came out at very different times. (Mine first, 5 minutes later the kids food came then 5 minutes after that my husband's food came). Would eat here again.

Ive been here before, years ago. It was good then, so I went to give it another shot. My brother and I were seated quickly and had our order taken soon after by a very kind and attentive woman. We were starving. We ordered an appetizer of egg rolls. The egg rolls came out piping hot, they were good, but they were way way too oily. Im talking dripping down my hands when I take a bite, river of grease. But, like I said, we were starving so we ate them. My brother ordered orange chicken that also came fried. It was a thick batter that was so laden with oil that there was no "crisp" when you bit into them. Soggy and frankly disappointing. I ordered Pad Ke Mao. Now.. I know this may not be the most appetizing way to describe the meal that I did end up eating... but it smelled like wet dog.. I love thai food, I probably eat it three times a week at least, and if you are familiar with it you know that sometimes the odor of certain dishes is not the most appealing. However this was the worst I've ever experienced. I ate a few bites then pawned the rest off on my starving brother. After this experience I wont be back, but if you're reading this and looking for Thai food in West Linn Try Thai Lemon on Willamette Falls Drive. I have truly never been disappointed there.

We ate there last night. Terrible odor. Dirty carpet. Greasy tabletops. Slow service. Tempura shrimp was greasy. Pot stickers were freezer burned. Main dishes were greasy and heavy. Have no interest in returning.

Excellent. Loved every bite. Ordered 4 different curries, soup, pineapple fried rice and crab rangoon. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely return. (this review is for take out only. We didn't eat in the restaurant)

Service was wonderful. Food was decent. The restaurant was old. Tables were sticky. Ceiling was dilapidated. You could also hear loud noises from the restaurant upstairs. Made dining stressing. We had dirty plates. But the waitress was AMAZING

Ordered take out here for the first time. I was told 25 minutes on the phone, got there with 5 minutes to spare and ended up waiting 50! One person next to me was offered water while they waited and I was not. I was a little frustrated because I love the food.... But not enough for this kind of service. The people eating in the restaurant seemed to be taken care of promptly, and it wasn't even very busy. Probably won't go back to order take out.

It wasn't that good and a little too salty for my taste. We ordered Pad Thai (Shrimp & Chicken) and they forgot to add the shrimp, so they boiled 4 shrimps and put in the little soup bowl for us. Hmmmm We also ordered Cashew Chicken... The cashew nuts seemed OLD, moldy raw & had a soggy taste. Oh well. :(

Speedy service with a smile. Food was flavorful and delicious. I have been to the place off and on for 20 years and have never had bad food or poor service. I was surprised to read the other reviews that rated this place low. It is busy and on a weekend night expect to wait anyplace in the area.

I went here for the second time today. The first was over 5 years ago on a date. This time around, I took my hubby of 4 years. We both got the chicken Pad Thai (original, I know). $8 per plate for the lunch special. What's funny is the ambiance and environment have not changed one bit from what I remember. Plastic white tablecloths, minimal decor and an "empty" feeling. This is the only reason I took off a star (the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired). If I could, I would trade Thai Linn's environment with Thai Orchid (that would hit the spot). The wait staff is very friendly, however. Overall, if you're looking for typical, good thai, this is a great spot. If you're looking for a romantic, thai date night, this isn't the spot because it's so plain and unoriginal. But we'll definitely be back in for lunch or dinner take-out.

Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen in Portland, but even in my neck of woods, each city has two or three. I feel a little bad about the three star review, but since I regularly dine at Thai restaurants in Lake Oswego, Tualatin and Wilsonville, I have a pretty good basis for comparison. I placed a family order "to go" and my food was ready when promised. The parking situation is a bit of a problem since they share a building with Bugatti's, but you can legally park in the lot across the street. Here is where the direct comparison and ratings drop comes in... I placed our standard order. The same items I've been ordering on a monthly basis from Thai Village in Wilsonville for years. A couple appetizers, curry, a noodle dish and rice. At Thai Orchid, we received four satay instead of five. Similarly, their salad rolls are two smaller rolls rather than the three large ones we usually receive elsewhere. The panang curry and pad kee mao were fine, but I've had better at other Thai restaurants in the area. Our total bill was also ($5 - 10) more than we pay for the same meal elsewhere, so they lose on both the criteria of quantity and cost. So this is a solid Thai restaurant in West Linn, but if I'm looking for Thai food to excite me, I'm going to go elsewhere.

Grabbed some lunch here with a good friend who works nearby. First, spotless and nice environment. Quiet and quick service. Beautiful presentation of the menu. My friend got his "usual" Pad thai chicken- hot and I ordered some Thai noodle soupl (like Vietnamese Pho) with chicken. You know, it was good lunch food. Simple, quick and filling. We didn't have much of a culinary expectation and it served us well. We wanted a quiet, nice place to talk and we certainly got that...then there was the family with three little children who came in...there are the children sitting quietly waiting for their lunch...and their parents both staring at their cell phones....too bad. and right after we left they closed, so I think they might close between lunch and dinner..check the hours. If it's closed...try Bugatti's upstairs

I live nearby to Orchid. I made the decision after my last visit not to patronize this restaurant again, especially since Curry in a Hurry is just 2 miles away. The food was bland and overcooked. A total waste of money.

I've been to Thai Orchid a number of times and we order the Pad Thai and Pad Gai. The Pad Thai is served with noodles, chicken, shrimp, spices, green onion, peanuts, bean sprouts, and some other ingredients I can't remember. The dish is okay. It's usually slightly over cooked, the chicken a bit tough but the dish was tasty. The Pad Gai is made with flat egg noodles and chicken. This dish is good, but a bit greasy. We also ordered some won tons which came with a spicy sweet dipping sauce which was okay. Overall, this place is a nice little place to grab some Thai food but it's not a place for fine dining. The staff is friendly and always serves you with a smile. It's pretty much a quick dinner if you're not looking to cook and looking to not spend too much to feed your family.

I've been here a few times with my coworkers, and we were always satisfied with the service. The food is prepared quick. I wish the food was more consistent though. The noodles are sometimes overcooked or too greasy or too salty.

Had the Mussaman Lamb Curry and another dish my friend ordered. (Can't recall the exact name, but had thick noodles with tofu) Both dishes were good. The food came out very quickly and the service was good. The dishes are bit expensive ($12-$19) compared to other ones. However, portions were generous and they were tasty. I can't say it's the best Thai food I've had, but certainly above average.

Best Thai in the 'burbs! Just as good as downtown with half the wait time! Great take out option!

I have eaten here with my family couple of times and I do like it. Friendly service with good food. I liked their yellow curry. Both the times I went, I got the corner round table!! Generally the servers are nice and one of the server told me that he plays golf and has a single digit handicap.

I've dined at this Thai Orchid location on several occasions over the years and it used to be pretty good, often great. (We usually go to Singha in Lake O, which has very, very good Thai and exceptional service, but we were driving through West Linn. ) This TO has slipped in food & service quality. Each time we dine here, it gets worse! My last (and probably final) trip to Thai Orchid was a very disappointing experience because of the terrible service. The food was N/A, since we were never waited on. We waited to request a table for 4. Since they were 75% empty, a few minutes later we were seated at a table without cutlery, water glasses, etc. They obviously just removed the last diners dishes, as food bits remained on the table. We did have menus, however. Another 10 minutes went by and the servers continued to take phone calls for "take-out" orders... call after call....and tried to get our waters to us, but never quite made it. Attempt to wait on us doesn't cut the mustard. Another 7 minutes went by and we could see people who were fortunate enough to have been waited on were sitting with dirty dishes for a long time, and others still waiting for their food looking upset. As the clock kept ticking, they continued looking at their watches. So this was our big que to get up and leave (quickly). It's unfortunate, because they were obviously short staffed. But that is no excuse to not even acknowledge patrons with an apology or excuse. It is very poor business. They care more about their take-out customers than eat-in diners, it's obvious! I have no desire to ever return to this location.

Back from 2000-2007 I would have rated this 5 stars. We returned to the area after a 4 year absence and while still good, the quality had slipped a little bit. Pad kee mau and pad see ew are still pretty good, and the Thomas Yum soup is very good.

I keep hearing people rave about this particular restaurant and while I think it's slightly better than average Thai food, it just ain't that damm special. Maybe it's the relative scarcity of ethnic restaurants in Lake Oswego/West Linn, or that most people experience only crappy Thai food.....whatever. Service is really good, prices are reasonable, the food is pretty much on par with the majority of Thai restaurants, but nothing really stands out, nothing really sings. No One-bite-Chicken, no shinning examples of that delicate combination of hot and sweet that makes Thai food really dazzle your taste buds. Just Pad Thai, Lad Nar, and various curry dishes. Oh, the sticky rice is artful and well presented though.

Friends invited my DH and I out to dinner this weekend. We made plans to meet at The Thai Orchid in West Linn. Friends had eaten here often but we had never been before. We arrived at 6pm. The little parking lot was full but apparently because of the Buggatti's restaurant on the upper floor. We found parking on the street and went in. The place was about 1/3 full. We were seated at a round table in the corner which was nice and roomy. Our server came over promptly and took our drink orders. The menu had a great variety of choices. We all finally decided and our server came again promptly. We were given the option of "heat level" for spicing up our dishes. Food came very quickly, served and nice platters. We decided to eat "family style" since we had seperate plates too. I am so glad that we did. Everything was so delicious. We had a seafood combination dish, a chicken, a beef and a fish. All completely different flavors and levels of spiciness. It was incredible. The waiter kept our water glasses full, tea poured and dishes cleared. There is not one complaint about the meal or service. I will definitely come back. The price was very reasonable. For 4 dishes, 2 wines and 2 beers our total was only $70
